ArcheAge is the ambitious MMO from Korean based XLGAMES. Currently ArcheAge is only available to Korean citizens but XLGAMES have promised open beta access to Europe and the Americas later this year.
ArcheAge is currently in it's 5th closed beta. In between beta four and five ArcheAge went for a second evaluation by South Korea’s games rating board. Their previous rating of Teen was replaced by a rating of Mature due to the sexual content, blood & Gore and drug Abuse. Check out this teaser for a taste of what's on offer.
The size of ArcheAge’s world is expected to exceed the size of World of Warcraft. There are three continents available, the continents of Nuia, home of the Elves, and Harihara populated by the Ferres are at war with each other, setting the scene for the ArcheAge story. The third continent can be conquered - groups of players can establish their own towns which can be battled over with other players through sieges. ArcheAge claims the world will be seamless, with no loading screens. Travel between continents is done on your own ship.
ArcheAge provides an extremely flexible class system, pick from one of the four pre-made classes or create a custom class. There are ten schools available during custom class creation, but you can only choose three.
Each school has it’s own unique skills and some schools work better together than others. Some skills can be combined to do extra damage, such as a levitation bubble and a telekinesis throw.
