Driven by Chris Roberts, Cloud Imperium Games launched a crowd funding campaign from the Roberts Space Industries website with the stated goal of raising two million dollars to produce a PC space sim in the mold of Freelancer and Wing Commander.
To date the project has hit the US$14 million mark.
